§ 10. Probationary Period.

Subd. (1) Except as provided in Subd. 2, every person holding a position in the classified service of the City on the effective date of this ordinance and every person subsequently appointed to such a position shall serve a probationary period of six months.

Subd. (2) The probationary period for a peace officer shall be twelve months.

Subd. (3) During the probationary period described in this Sec. 10 the person may be dismissed summarily without compliance with Section 8 but the dismissal shall be in writing and reported to the board.
